What I Wore Today...In Drawings

Sorry for the lack of new posts this week...I had a million boring things to do. Some nice too, as my sewing course started on tuesday...we only made skirts paper patterns this week but next time we'll sew a real one.

Yesterday I went buying the fabric; I had a million ideas - I imagined to purchase a bold colored fabric or something like tweed - and then when I arrived to the store and I had to choose I was so nervous I forgot everything and I came home with something totally classic. It's beautiful though and for a first try it's more than ok!

Lately I am so excited for these sewing lessons that sometimes I find myself thinking I'll soon be able to create and reproduce every skirt, dress and top I see and love...I'm totally crazy and irrealistic, I know! By the way these days I constantly make plans and sketches of what I will wear when (and most of all, if) I will become I decent seamstress.

Just a couple days ago I stumbled upon an almost new Flickr group which is a new version of all the what-I-wore-today groups, cause this ones is for drawings only!


Founded by Gemma Correll, a UK based illustrator, in just about one month the group counts more than 1000 members and pictures. There's even a blog where Gemma post her favorites.

It's so exciting that you've started a sewing course as well... I totally get what you're saying - I too keep thinking and dreaming about all the pretty dresses I plan to make, but I don't know if I'll ever be that good since we learn how to make clothes from patterns at my course. I don't know how I'd ever then manage to create my own designs...

Questi disegni sono favolosi... cambiano delle foto! Infatti io preferirei disegnare che fotografare i miei outfit, ma è più rapido fotografare...

What a clever idea! This is something I would get printed on say an 8by10 photo and get framed and I would hang up in a room in a house to give it a fashion feel!

PS) I think it's so great you know how to sew

@ Ariella: we make our own patterns starting from a series of standard designs...hopefully I could customize them a little!

@ L'armadio: ho iniziato martedì e nel mio orario siamo una decina. Abbiamo fatto il modello di una gonna base e martedì la realizzeremo concretamente...speriamo bene!!

These are so fantastically fun! I wish I could draw more than mere stick figures, I would love to document what I wear through drawing. So inspirational!
