A Couple Movies In My Watching List

Due to lack of good cinemas, Netflix and similar things, unreleased movies and me being stuck in a small town, the number of films in my watching list is absurdly increasing.

Here are just some of them...

Breaking Upwards follows a young New York couple who, after four years together, have grown stifled. Desperate to escape their ennui, but fearful of life apart, they decide to intricately strategize their own break up.

The Exploding Girl is the exquisite portrait of a young girl coming of age and finding a deeper kind of love in New York City.

Paris Je T'aime has been on my list since so long...Do you believe it's still unreleased in Italy?!

And of course New York, I Love you is on my list as well...

Which movies are in your watching list now?

Nadinoo At Work

This Is Naive is a blog I'm following from a while now. Tommy is a talented photographer and I like how shes' always able to focus on those little details, so small yet so nice and interesting. Also, I have a real thing for her Lo-Fi travel guides!

One of the latest Tommy's features is about "people at work", a series of regular posts where she visually describe the art and everyday life of talented people.

So, when I heard she was about to feature the work of Nadia Izruna, the girl behind Nadinoo I couldn't be happier and the post didn't disappoint me indeed!

Some of the amazing pieces from Nadinoo's Spring/Summer collection

Work!

And there's even a little preview of what will come next season. I really hope she will actually make that cape!!

And what about the perfection of every single piece here?!

Nadia recently moved to London and her canal-side apartment looks like a really nice place...

La Gatta Con Gli Stivali

Yuna and Suny are two Italian friends who share a true passion for quality shoes with an eclectic and a bit retro appeal. This passion brought them to the creation of La Gatta con gli Stivali, a wonderful website jam-packed with the best selection of shoe brands I've ever seen on an Italian online shop so far.

Visiting La Gatta con gli Stivali, is like entering a fairytale (and not just for the name, which is a jeu de mots on the italian title of Charles Perrault's Puss in Boots), where the princesses wear Chie Mihara and Minna Parikka's delightful creations.

And even if you don't have to be a princess to wear such marvellous shoes, the customer care of La Gatta con gli Stivali is so wonderful you will be treated like you're actually living in a fairytale!

First of all the shopping experience here is always something exclusive. Not only the brands Yuna and Suny choose to carry are extremely selected, but they always have just a small amount of pieces in stock for each style, so you'll never feel you'll buying something every other girl around you will soon wear.

Another thing to keep in mind is people at La Gatta con gli Stivali are friendly and helpful and will be glad to offer a personalized service with a shopping consultant and to answear to all of your questions and fashion doubts.

Last but not least at all, if you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return it for free and have a replacement or your money back.

So, you have no excuses now: go check the store and fell in love! The new collection is arriving in these days and many more fab pieces will be listed soon, so be back often too!

Not in Italy? Don't worry, La Gatta con gli Stivali ships worlwide and accepts payment via Paypal and all the major credit cards.

And don't forget to become a fan on Facebook too!

Pixies

Probably the most popular this year, pixie haircut is something I love but I know would never work on me. I actually have a proof: I had my hair cut that way when I was 17 and even if people tell me it was not that bad at all, I still have nightmares about it!

By the way, if you're braver than me, look for a good hairdresser et...voilà!

You can take inspiration from two great lady icons from the past, Jean Seberg...

...and Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby.

Or from two contemporary lady icons: Mia Wasikowska, who looks great with her new haircut...

...and Carey Mulligan, who tried the pixie cut in almost every color shade!

It's All In The Details

I'm noticing that my favorite street style shots of lately are all about (expensive) details and easy chic attitude, more than whole outfits.

How perfect is this family portrait?!

Lea Stein

My new obsession are Lea Stein's brooches.

Art deco animal jewelry? Of course!! Each piece is slighly different fron the others and each design comes in different colors and patterns: perfection, despite the fact I would buy everything!

These above are just few of my favorites...if you wanna really hurt yourself take a look at the extensive collection showcased here!

Vintage Sartorialist

One of the thing I recently enjoyed the most was the first photo contest Scott The Sartorialist Schuman ran last month.

The Vintage Photo Contest was - obviously - about vintage photos, and if you're following me you may know how much I like to indulge in old pictures from my family, but also from unknown people. And photos that come with a story are the best, like when you purchase a vintage dress and people tell you about its original owner...

So a lot of people were involved in the Sartorialist contest and sent him the most beautiful images they own, from 20s to early 80s, of their stylish family members. And each entry came with a brief introduction.

If you missed the whole thing, I suggest you to check the blog. Now!
