Strange And Beautiful

I change, but my addiction to nailpolish is still here. I really can't live without a layer of smooth color on my feet (and amost never on my hands!) expecially in summer.

I am all for solid saturated shades, brights or muted, and I could wear almost every color, just for a night out - some too bright shades really don't work with my pale skin - or for weeks.

When I saw the exclusive line of nail polishes designed by Jane Schaub sometimes ago on the internet I immediately loved it.


It's called StrangeBeautiful and indeed it is. The most exciting thing is the colors come in three different sets - volumes - of eight pieces and each nail polish is inspired by...pretty strange details that make me smile: the red Valentine typewriter, the slate blue color of a uniform in an 1846 N.Currier print, Violette ink from the venerable French ink company J. Herbin, the dreadfully wonderful dirty almond color used on kitchen appliances and so on...


The painful note: each set costs 56£ (available here) Definitely not so great for my actual budget.


What's your favorite volume? I'd probably choose the first one, but I'd be a very happy girl with all the tree of them!

Pixies

Probably the most popular this year, pixie haircut is something I love but I know would never work on me. I actually have a proof: I had my hair cut that way when I was 17 and even if people tell me it was not that bad at all, I still have nightmares about it!

By the way, if you're braver than me, look for a good hairdresser et...voilà!

Oh, glam rock... I immediately think of David Bowie and the 70s glitters, Ziggy Stardust and the new rock universe. That Velvet Goldmine is definitely still loved and glam rock is always a big inspiration for a lot of designers. First of all for the enfant terrible of the French couture...

Melon, Mint And All That's In Between

As much as I don't like nail polish on my fingernails, I adore and I can't live without it on my toenails.

Not surpringly these are my favorite film titles...


By the way, lately I'm spending a lot of time in the beauty section of Asos, looking at all those cool brands and beautiful shades, developing a little obsession for ultra-hot-hot pink, sherbet tones and mint green





Mint green/jade nail polish, which is apparently the next big thing, will also be launched as a limited edition by Chanel, from October.

Unfortunately my searches on Asos always end with me angry in front of my pc screen: why some brands - and I mean just some brands, including of course the ones above, that stock my favorite shades - are shipped to UK only...?!?

Finally the mystery behind the guest star for the first anniversary of MA DAME, the new fragrance by Jean Paul Gautier, has been unveiled!

After looking at the latest clue I have no doubts...


...it's Martin Solveig!

For its first anniversary, MA DAME , the new feminine fragrance of Jean Paul Gaultier, raise the volume celebrating with humor, glamour and a bit of mistery.


Following the musical wave MA DAME has invited a mysterious artist to the celebration...it's a surprise party indeed!


Several bloggers around Europe have been invited to unveil the mistery behind this guest star: it will works as a treasure hunt (something I loved when I was a girl, btw!) as they will give us clues and indications to solve the case...before June 22nd

Looking at the picture...that "1234"...I'm thinking the mistery man could be the french DJ Martin Solveig...because of his song One 2 3 Four . Does this makes sense?! ...Who knows?! I will be waiting for a new clue ;-)

This Is an Emergency Call!

This is officially an obsession, so I think I'll share it with my faithful readers too...!

Two years ago, when I was in New York, I bought a small bottle of White Tea Body Mist from The Healing Garden and I fell in love with this fresh and flowery fragrance.


Sadly it was a really short love story, cause when I came back to Italy and looked for more White Tea I suddendly discovered that this line from The Healing Garden is not available anywhere: neither in stores, nor online. Apparently at today it is discontinued or something even in US...
I searched on American websites and from international Ebay sellers, and I saw some stores still carry this item, but again none of them ship to Italy :-( (Maybe...could someone here buy it for me...?!)

I'm really desperate: it's not a diamond I'm looking for, it's just a stupid cheap small bottle of White Tea Body Mist and this is really painful!

The Healing Garden calls it "comforting body mist". Well, I need to be comforted...

Make Up Follies

As per usual the makeup presented during the fashion weeks is so various there's always something for everyone! Though my everyday makeup consists on eyeliner only (sometimes is eyeliner+lipstick, red or purple preferably) I admit sometimes I'd like to try different things, so today I was looking again at the beauty details from the Spring 2009 catwalks searching for inspiration.

Aquascutum, John Galliano, Blugirl


Of course some looks are a bit "too much" for a day at work or even for a night out (or at least my nights out!), but mixing and matching there are lil details I would gladly give a try, like the geisha lips à la Galliano, the ultra pink cheeks seen on Blugirl models, the porcelain skin with glossy red lips at Vuitton...

I really like Diane Von Furstenberg modern-hippie-with-strong-eyes girl


and I'm a bit skeptical about the eyebrows choices Marc Jacobs and Marni did(God, one thing I don't like from Marni, finally!)...interesting on a catwalk, but probably not so fascinating on real women!

and the amazing, wonderful, literally eyecatching teal/turquoise smocky eyes by Pat McGrath for Gucci.
