Dior: Yesterday And Today

For Dior Fall 2009 Haute Couture collection John Galliano came back to origins, choosing to set up the show in Christian Dior headquarters in the Avenue Montaigne, as it always happened in 1950s. Well done.

Yesterday...

...today

Tiny waists, headwear, full skirts and petticoats with the modern twist of Galliano's colors: orange, purple, red, hot pink but also neutral flesh shades.

So wonderfully New Look, the result is breathtaking.

What about this gorgeous flower hat?!

Thumbs up for the makeup too. Quite easy to replicate at home and almost wearable this time!

Hmmm. The flower hat is a bit much, I say. But hey, this is fashion, this is haute couture. But everything else is fabulous!

@ Annakins!: yes, I agree, I wouldn't wear it in my everyday life of course, but it's a dream! And haute couture is about dreams, indeed :-)

Che chic la prima foto! Quelle di oggi sono simpaticissime e un po' trash (appena troppo, però è anche questo che le rende così simpatiche).

I love John Galliano! His clothes are always so beautiful and theatrical! :)

Diamond encrusted bows? Chic lingerie? Derby hats? Barbie gowns? Birdcage veils? Excuse me, I need a hankerchief because I'm drooling. Make that a vintage lace hankerchief sewn by blind nuns in Switzerland to match the collection.
