The Neon Boneyard

Today I was thinking about a fashion editorial published on Elle Italy a couple years ago, maybe three. I stupidly didn't take it and I couldn't find it online. I can't even remember who the photographer was, so it's not an easy thing...

Those pictures are still impressed in my mind because they were taken in one of the places I would visit one day during my long dreamed - and very virtual for now - US road trip: the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas, NV.

This three acre site houses 150+ non-restored historic neon signs, the most treasured from Caesars Palace, Golden Nugget, the Stardust, etc. Each of those signs has a story: the oldest one date 1931! They're symbols of a glamourous glittering gone by era, definitely a different world from the tacky Las Vegas of today.

I really like cemeteries (hope this doesn't sound too creepy...!) and broken kitschy relics, so this place is exactly my thing!

RIP dear old school Vegas...
