Secrets, Lies, Martini and Cigarettes

Once again I live in fascination and I use the tv as my personal time machine. I can't wait for the second season of the Golden Globe winner, best tv drama series Mad Men (premiere in the US on July 27th).
I loved the first season and if you didn't get a chance to watch it I strongly recommend to do it. The screenplay is really well written, the characters intriguing and not at all "flat" and I totally liked the detailed reproduction of the late 50s - early 60s New York interiors and way of life. Those transitional days, when the American Dream was strong as never before but everything was slowly collapsing...All those dreamy images were the first signs of the upcoming massive loss of innocence, it was like looking at people's perfect lives trough a cracked mirror.

The fashion department of the series did a greatly accurate job too, so if you're a fan of that fashion period as I am, it's a real pleasure to look at those great outfits, accessories, hairdos and makeup.

Beloved wives and frustrated housewives, mistresses, secretaries, the first career and boho/artsy girls, indipendent women: what's your fashion stereotype?
I admit I can't decide...

I love this show. I also like how "unexpected" so much of it is, you never see the drama coming and it's anything but typical or over the top!

Didn't know that one, but looks and sounds addictive. Will it be out on DVD soon?
